Richard Montañez started his career at PepsiCo's Frito-Lay in 1976 as a janitor in its Rancho Cucamonga plant. He is celebrated as the creator of the iconic Flamin' Hot line of products including Flamin' Hot Cheetos, which revolutionized the snack food industry and paved the way for multicultural brand marketing.

Throughout his career, Richard rose through executive leadership to head Multicultural Sales & Marketing across Pepsi North American divisions. Both state and federal officials have honored him with commendations for his visionary leadership, education initiatives, and economic growth advocacy.

Richard was unanimously voted the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) Board of Directors' very first Latino Board Member.
